Hey there, friends! July 4th is just around the corner, and it’s time to gear up for a day filled with patriotism, fireworks, and of course, amazing food. Whether you’re planning a backyard BBQ, heading to a picnic in the park, or hosting a festive gathering at home, this Independence Day is all about creating memorable moments with family and friends. Ginger Iced Tea

Ingredients


Cooking Instructions

  1. In a small pot, bring sugar and 1 cup water to a boil. Remove from heat and add fresh ginger; steep for about 7 minutes. Strain syrup and discard ginger. Allow syrup to cool completely, about 10 minutes.

  2. In a pitcher, combine syrup and tea.

  3. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerater until chilled (2 hours-2 days)

  4. Fill tall glass with ice cubes. Add a scant 1 cup ginger tea to each, then top with 1/4 cup moscato.

  5. Serve with candied ginger slice on the side if desired.





Summer Berry Parfait

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 quarts hulled and quartered strawberries

  • 2 Cups blueberries

  • 1 Cup raspberries

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • A pinch of salt

  •  1 1/2 Cups heavy cream

  • 3 Tablespoons Confectioner's sugar

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract



Cooking Instructions


  1. Toss 1 1/2 quarts hulled and quartered strawberries, 2 Cups blueberries, 1 Cup raspberries. 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl.

  2. Let sit, stirring occasionally, until berries are juicy, 20-30 minutes.

  3. Meanwhile, whip 1 1/2 Cups heavy cream, 3 Tablespoons Confectioner's sugar, and 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract in a large bowl until soft peaks form.

  4. Layer the cream and berries in an 8 oz. Jars or parfait cups, divivded evenly.







Marinated Watermelon and tomato salad

Ingredients

  • 1 small 5 lb watermelon, cubed

  • 3 Limes

  • 1 1/2 lb Tomatoes

  • 1/2 small Red onion, sliced

  • 1/2 Cup fresh Basil, Torn

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive oil

  • 3/4 teaspoons salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper


Cooking directions

  1. Combine 10 cups cubed watermelon and 1/4 cup lime juice in a large bowl. Let sit, stiriing occasinally, at room temperature for 15 minutes. (The watermelon will absorb the lime juice as it sits)

  2. Add 1 1/2 lb chopped tomatoes, 1/2 sliced small red onion, 1/2 cup torn fresh basil leaves, olive oil, salt and pepper.

  3. Toss to combine.

  4. Chill 10-45 minutes before serving
