Whether you’re a seasoned baker or a beginner in the kitchen, these cinnamon crescent rolls are the perfect way to celebrate—no fancy ingredients, no complicated steps. Just sweet, simple magic you can make and share with love.
Let’s take a bite out of the history, and then dive into a recipe that’s budget-friendly, beginner-approved, and totally drool-worthy!
A Brief History of Cinnamon Crescent Rolls
Crescent rolls originated in Europe and made their way into American kitchens with the help of refrigerated dough in the mid-20th century (thank you, convenience!). Cinnamon has long been beloved for its warmth and spice, and combining it with flaky pastry? Well, that was a genius move that became a beloved treat across generations.
While today might not be the most widely known food holiday, it’s a great excuse to slow down, indulge your sweet tooth, and bake something that smells just as good as it tastes.
Why We Love ‘Em (and Why They Matter)

Beyond the buttery flake and cinnamon warmth, cinnamon crescent rolls represent something deeper: comfort, care, and a way to share joy. In a world where food equity and accessibility are more important than ever, it’s important to have recipes that don’t require a trip to a specialty store or break the bank.
This recipe uses affordable, easy-to-find ingredients, and it’s flexible enough to adapt to what you have on hand. Whether you’re baking for yourself, your kids, or sharing with a neighbor, these rolls are a small but meaningful way to spread a little sweetness.
Easy Cinnamon Crescent Rolls Recipe
(Makes 8 rolls)
Ingredients:
1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Optional: 1/4 cup chopped nuts or raisins
Optional glaze: 1/2 cup powdered sugar + 1–2 tsp milk or plant milk
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
Brush each triangle with melted butter, then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Add nuts or raisins if you’re using them!
Roll each triangle up, starting from the wide end, and place them point-side down on the baking sheet.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown.
While the rolls are baking, whisk together your glaze ingredients (if using) until smooth.
Drizzle glaze over warm crescent rolls and enjoy while they’re still toasty!
Celebration In Every Bite
On this sweet, cinnamony holiday, take a moment to treat yourself. Whether you’re baking solo, with kids, or inviting a neighbor over for coffee and rolls, today is about finding warmth in the little things.
